FC Barcelona have been dealing with a lot of financial issues in recent years due to poor mismanagement of resources. As a consequence of those issues, their activity in the transfer markets have been rather inconsistent to say the least. Even in this previous summer window, Barcelona were not exactly able to bring in all of their desired targets.

Eventually, however, they did manage to make one major signing that arrived from the Bundesliga. Former La Masia talent Dani Olmo, who arrived in the summer for a figure of around €50 million, is now back at the club and is already proving his worth and the value of the journey he has taken to get back here.

Moreover, his performances have been so impactful and impressive that even his teammates can not help but be amazed by his displays so far and the level that he has been showing for Barcelona, as highlighted by Barça Times, and they say from within the locker room that:

“He’s on another level.”

The €60 million-rated European champion with Spain remains one of Barça’s most productive players in attack. In his five appearances so far this season, the former RB Leipzig player has managed to score three goals, and one of them was a late game-winner against Rayo Vallecano.

His other two goals came in the 7-0 demolition of Real Valladolid and the 4-1 victory over Girona away from home. Even apart from his goals, Olmo’s quality is clear to see with every touch that he takes and the way he makes every single decision count whether he is on the ball or away from it.

These qualities are only further boosted by the fact that the Barcelona star is adapting incredibly well to Hansi Flick’s demanding high-intensity system and brand of football. While others in La Liga are yet to get accustomed to it, the former Bundesliga player finds it to come naturally to home due to the German philosophy of football in place.

Having been exposed to this philosophy over in the Bundesliga, Dani Olmo now finds it to be the right fit for him at Barcelona as well. It was simply only a matter of time before he ultimately ended up becoming a key player for Hansi Flick’s side despite having been forced to miss some early encounters in the season due to registration issues.

Having now recovered from his injury as well and having showcased his talents against the likes of Bayern Munich and against Real Madrid in the 4-0 victory through brief cameos, the Barça summer signing looks set to start against Espanyol in the upcoming fixture as well.
