FC Barcelona gradually see their star players return to action after months on end of being sidelined, with the Catalans feeling the aftereffects. Despite the recent loss to Rayo Vallecano, the respective returns of Frenkie De Jong and Pedri have given La Blaugrana a reason to rejoice. Now, as they prepare to face Real Betis, two more star players are set to return.

Both Danish defender Andreas Christensen and French winger Ousmane Dembele have been given the medical green light for the La Liga Santander clash between FC Barcelona and Real Betis, as per a report from the official Barcelona website.

Two crucial players for Xavi Hernandez, Christensen has arguably been the best signing under the manager considering the balance between his strong displays and the fact that he was a free signing, while Ousmane Dembele has finally begun to showcase the quality Barcelona brought him in for from Borussia Dortmund in the first place while under Xavi’s tutelage.

Christensen’s injury took place while he was away from Barcelona on international duty with the Danish national team, suffering an injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg, consequently having been deemed to be unavailable for a month. The player is now set to return against Real Betis and potentially even start the game.

On the other hand, Ousmane Dembele was injured in January while playing against Girona in Barcelona’s La Liga clash with the other Catalan side and was taken off following an injury to the rectus femoris in his left leg. Now well past his original diagnosis and the time it subsequently ruled him out for, the Frenchman will finally be able to make his return for FC Barcelona, albeit he most likely will not start like his Danish teammate.

Barcelona are set to welcome Real Betis to the Spotify Camp Nou on the 29th of April for Matchday 32 of La Liga Santander as they continue their stride towards winning this season’s La Liga title. The clash between the 1st-placed Barcelona and 6th-placed Real Betis will kick off at 09:00 pm CEST.
