Injuries and physical problems have not been kind to FC Barcelona in the initial phases of this season, as the Catalans have already missed several important players. In fact, players like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Kounde, Pedri, and Frenkie de Jong are still yet to make their returns from various injuries.
However, things could have become even worse for Barcelona, as Lamine Yamal also felt discomfort in Barcelona’s last match before the international break. Furthermore, Alejandro Balde also felt discomfort and was replaced in the match between Spain and Scotland in the international break.
Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde rejoin group training
But SPORT has good news for Barcelona fans in this regard, as it reports that both Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde have joined the group training and are working with their teammates to get in top shape before the Catalans face Athletic Club.
However, for now, these two players were able to complete only a part of the training session. The latest training session was held on Wednesday, and in addition to these two youngsters, Barcelona Athletic players were also a part of it as it was a joint session, and Barcelona still have a number of first-team players away on international duties.
Seven players yet to return
The Portuguese duo of Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo is among the players who have still not returned to Barcelona. They had permission from the club to skip this training session as they had recently played a match with Portugal.
Five other players including Ter Stegen, Ilkay Gundogan, Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo, and Fermin Lopez are also yet to rejoin Barcelona training.
However, the presence of Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde in the training session was definitely a piece of good news for Barcelona and Xavi. The latter will be able to count on them not only for the match against Bilbao but also for the ensuing important matches against Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid.
