FC Barcelona have in recent weeks welcomed an influx of young talents from their subsidiary ranks when faced with an injury crisis. The players have ranged from the ages of 19 all the way down to 15-year-old Lamine Yamal. In recent days, however, it is believed that a new young gem may have been uncovered to a more global audience.
Training with the first team now, under the tutelage of FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez, is a 17-year-old midfielder by the name of Pau Prim who currently shows off his magic at the Juvenil A and B levels for the Catalan club. Regarded as a very dependable and astute pivot in midfield, this particular youngster has been scouted and reported to have a set of skills that make him as complete as he is.
Potent in front of the goal, Prim is also quite balanced with both feet and their respective usage and is a prime example at all times for those around him. He also reportedly possesses great leadership skills, one that can be deduced not just from the exclamation of reports, but also through the factual captainships he’s held for both the Cadet A side, as well as on an international level by captaining Spain’s Under 17.
The player has hit quite the milestones this season as well. Having renewed his current contract with FC Barcelona, he is now expected to spend a good chunk of his years ahead continuing his growth in the ever-so-famous Blaugrana colors. Moreover, the youngster has also managed to make his debut in the UEFA Youth League this season, another commendable achievement.
A Blaugrana since childhood, the player bleeds blue and red like many greats who came before his time. He was, according to a report by SPORT, one of those lucky few that would go on to commemorate and initiate the building of the Johan Cruyff stadium as one of those that laid one of its first stones.
While the opportunity to feature against Atletico Madrid in the next La Liga clash for the first team evades him, it goes without saying that this youngster may have much more to offer the Catalan club in the many years yet to come. For now, the chance to train under the tutelage of a club legend and learn from players of the highest caliber should be quite an enticing experience on its own.
