Injuries are a rather sensitive topic at FC Barcelona given their recent history of having to deal with the losses of some of their best players due to some form of physical injury that has, in one way or another, jeopardized a particular season or campaign.
There was the rather famous case of French winger Ousmane Dembele, who would continuously fall victim to various injuries and ended up spending a massive chunk of his time at Barcelona on the sidelines to recover.
Similarly, the case of La Masia prodigy Ansu Fati is also one that tarnished the progress of a promising young forward who is now struggling to find his way back to his own best version. Consequently, Barcelona are not willing to lose yet another one of their prodigal stars to the same kind of issues.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona will be quite cautious with the recovery of their 20-year-old star and former Golden Boy winner, Pedri. Having suffered an injury to the anterior rectum of the right leg, the young Canary Islander is expected to be out for a little while longer.
As per most reports, Barcelona will be looking to keep the player in recovery until the next international break in October. Until then, the great performances of Ilkay Gundogan, Gavi, Oriol Romeu, and Frenkie De Jong are expected to keep Barcelona stable and performing well.
For now, Barcelona expect Pedri to soon begin individual training and the development of his physical condition will determine how soon he is able to rejoin group training with the rest of the team. The clash against Real Madrid on the 29th of October is deemed to be the date by when Barcelona expect their young prodigy to be completely fit.
