FC Barcelona are in the market for a midfielder and reports point out to the Catalan giants having their eyes set on a potential move for Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans.
According to reports from SPORT, Jordi Cruyff likes the 25-year-old midfielder and could push for his arrival at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Tielemans’s versatility in midfield allows him to play as a pivot and an interior, a trait that befits what Barca are in for and thus is a tempting prospect to Xavi’s project. The Belgian’s ability to pick out passes with ease and his scoring ability which has seen him net the ball thrice in 15 matches this season have put him on Blaugrana’s radar.
Furthermore, his contract is set to expire this summer hence Leicester could be tempted to cash on him in January rather than seeing him walk out as a free agent at the end of the campaign.
Tielemans is a viable option though Barcelona also have their eyes on German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan as another option for reinforcing their midfield. The winter market isn’t far away and the Catalans will sure be in for either of the two.
