FC Barcelona are renowned for being an institution that nurtures young talents, giving them a platform to showcase their abilities. The Catalans pride themselves on the growth of their youth prospects, which is seen in the spectacular trajectory of the likes of Pedri and Araujo.
This summer, the Blaugranes have once again targeted several bright youngsters. Having officially wrapped up the signing of Mikayil Faye, Vitor Roque is also set to be greeted by Barcelona, with an official announcement set to take place shortly.
According to SPORT, another name that has been gaining traction among the club’s hierarchy is Frankfurt’s Kebir Ali Canpolat. The winger is apparently desired by many top European clubs, which means Barcelona will be certain to face competition in the event they pursue Canpolat’s signature.
Canpolat is one of the best representatives of the Eintracht Frankfurt Academy. With 12 goals and 8 assists for Frankfurt’s under-17 side, he was one of the team’s top performers and helped them place fourth in one of the three Bundesliga sub-17 divisions.
Consequently, interest in him appears to stem from the fact that he has already shown innate promise at an exceedingly young age. Apart from Barcelona, teams like Inter Milan, Juventus, Ajax, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal are also showing considerable interest in the winger.
Canpolat’s insistence on looking for a change of scenery following his limited chances of breaking through to the first team has been one of the reasons teams from Europe have begun to eye his situation.
As Barcelona have historically trailed talents that have played beyond their years, it is not ruled out that the Catalans end up making a move for Canpolat. Even so, they must first sort out their finances if they want to have a shot at sealing his signing. The added pressure of competition from other clubs is also something to be wary of.
