FC Barcelona currently have one of the most celebrated strikers in their team in the form of Robert Lewandowski. While the quality of the Pole is not doubted by anyone, it is clear that age is finally catching up with the striker, as he has been struggling to gain form since the start of this season.

Thus, Barcelona would have to get another long-term solution for this position. The Catalans have already signed Vitor Roque from Brazil this summer, who will arrive in January 2024, and is expected to be the natural successor of Lewandowski.

Barcelona following RB Leipzig forward

However, according to the journalist Francesco Aguilar, FC Barcelona have another rising striker in their sights. This player is Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, who is still 20 years old but has attracted the attention of the footballing world by his performances in recent seasons.

The journalist claims that FC Barcelona have been following the player ever since he was in FC Liefering, which is the reserve team of FC Red Bull Salzburg. The Catalans primarily like the forward for his physicality, height, and speed.

Sesko showing good form in Germany

Sesko has joined RB Leipzig only this summer from FC Red Bull Salzburg, and up to now, has already notched up two appearances in the Bundesliga, netting two goals in the process.

Last season with Salzburg, the player had 30 Bundesliga appearances, in which he scored 16 goals and gave four assists. He had another two goals in four appearances in the OFB Cup and also made 6 appearances in the Champions League.

Benjamin Sesko is definitely an exciting player to keep an eye on, and if Barcelona can get him, the Catalans will have two of the most highly-rated young forwards in their ranks for the upcoming seasons. However, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona can actually get the player, as their finances would allow them only a limited space to maneuver in the transfer market.
