FC Barcelona have been planning for life after Robert Lewandowski and it seems that their eyes are keen on Borussia Dortmund’s young prospect Youssoufa Moukoko.
Moukoko has made headlines in the past few days with his contractual situation at Dortmund in the air since the German club and the youngster have failed to agree on terms for his contract renewal.
The youngster’s agent, Patrick Williams, confirmed that the chances of Moukoko continuing at Dortmund seem far from likely to happen since the German club aren’t willing to match the player’s salary demands which are reportedly €5-6 million per year.
Williams told Sky Sports: “I can confirm that, for now, we are not close to an agreement on a new contract with Borussia Dortmund. Moukoko is an interesting option for all the top clubs in the world, especially on a free transfer.”
Moukoko is high on Barcelona’s wish list to reinforce their attack but the Blaugrana are only interested in signing the German on a free transfer. Borussia Dortmund, however, are pushing the German teenager for a contract renewal and if Moukoko wills to join the Garnet and the Blue he’ll have to hold on till the 30th of June when his current contract expires.
Barcelona will have to wait and see whether Moukoko wishes to join them or the youngster will be tempted by luxurious offers from other top clubs from the English Premier League and across Europe.
