Barcelona eyeing La Masia forwards to bolster their offensive options

La Masia has been one of the major supporting pillars for FC Barcelona throughout its history. As this talent factory continues to turn out highly skilled footballers at a high rate, the club is looking towards La Masia once again to bolster their squad in the near future.

While there have been some notable defenders and forwards, La Masia has historically been known for turning out high-quality midfielders. This focus on the midfield also becomes observable for the first team. One of the club’s best eras was defined by the La Masia trio of Iniesta, Xavi, and Busquets playing in the midfield for Barcelona.

However, La Masia currently also holds several exciting forwards in its ranks who can be a part of the FC Barcelona first team or can go on to make a name for themselves in the world of football at any other club. The most notable of these are discussed below:

Estanis Pedrola: (19 years old / Winger)

Estanis is a classic wing player and has shown top physique and elite technical level while playing with the B team. His explosiveness, good height, and goal-scoring abilities make him a favorable option for Rafa Marquez for now and for Xavi in the future. SPORT reports that Marquez wants him to improve his decision-making to become a better player.

Ángel Alarcón: (18 years old / Winger and Center Forward)

Alarcon has already got minutes with the first team this season, as his performance with the Juvenil A after his recovery from an injury has been highly impressive. He is particularly adept at getting into good positions without the ball and is a very fit forward for his age. He mainly plays on the wing, having a style similar to Ferran Torres, but he can also play as a Center Forward.

Lamine Yamal: (15 years old, Winger)

Yamal is currently the most well-known player in the Juvenil A team, as he has performed at an exceptionally high level, despite only being 15 years of age. He has also frequently trained with the first team, and his fluidity and skill in attack make him a dominant presence against players much older than him. The report from SPORT claims that he still has to improve his defensive continuity, and the club is prioritizing his renewal at the end of the season.

Víctor Barberà: (18 years old, Centre Forward)

Víctor Barberà is currently the top scorer with the Barcelona B team, but his future seems exceedingly to be outside of Barcelona. His goal-scoring ability, the instinct for goals, and explosive speed make him an ideal prospect as a forward.

Ilias Akhomach: (18 years old/ Winger)

Ilias is another player who has shown great potential with the B team for years, and his ability to imbalance opposing teams is a highly desirable trait. However, like Barbera, he is also expected to leave Barcelona when his contract expires at the end of this season.
