FC Barcelona continue to await life beyond the mentorship of Xavi Hernandez as head coach. The Catalan club needs to find an adequate replacement at the end of the season, and no name has been locked down so far. However, Barcelona do have a few options in mind.

Most of those names are managers who are already free agents or will become one in the summer. The likes of Hansi Flick and Jurgen Klopp were reportedly being targeted, and while the latter’s arrival seems improbable due to his hopes of taking some time off from football, Barça still have them on the list of potential candidates.

One man who now enters this list is Thomas Tuchel, current head coach of Bayern Munich. The German coach is set to part ways with the Bavarian giants in the summer, and Barcelona are thus keeping their ears open regarding his case, as per SPORT.

A proven and tested coach, Tuchel has had successful stints with various clubs. Moreover, he has managed to coach an assortment of different and varying locker rooms and clubs. This only adds to his experience, one that is littered with success, even at a major European level.

However, it seems that Barcelona will not be alone in the pursuit of his signature. While he has admitted to wanting to coach in Spain one day, reports claim a return to England may not be off the cards. As such, there are three jobs in particular within England that could potentially lure him away from a possible Barcelona appointment.

The first is a possible coaching opportunity at Liverpool. With the team from Merseyside set to part ways with Jurgen Klopp in the summer, his compatriot could be a solid option to replace him. Another option could be Manchester United, who do not exactly seem fully content with the progress made under Dutch coach Erik ten Hag.

Lastly, there is also the possibility of taking over the head coach position within the English national team. Gareth Southgate is not exactly fully convincing everyone with his current record, and there may be a chance of him stepping down after the European Championship. As such, that position becomes another rival for Barcelona to compete against for his signature.
