The interest from FC Barcelona in the likes of various young European talent remains as prominent as ever and they continue to scout across the continent to find the very best to invest in. One such promising name has emerged from the Turkish regions.
Barcelona believe that while investing in this particular Turkish youngster would be a great deal for the future given the potential quality he has showcased, there are certain extremes they must avoid at all costs.
According to the latest revelation by SPORT, Barcelona’s interest in young Arda Guler of Fenerbahce remains as strong as ever but they have recently been met with the hurdle of his representatives asking for exorbitant commission fees that rival even the infamous case of the ones involved in the transfer of Erling Haaland.
The Catalan club was originally reported to be considering paying the €17.5 million release clause that would see them be able to acquire and bring in the 18-year-old Turkish forward to Barcelona, but now the additional amount requested by his representatives has thrown them off.
Reportedly, the demands of his entourage are estimated to be close to an additional €20 million beyond the release clause that the club would have to pay as well.
Barcelona must now tread with care and patience, as even though the player is one destined for European stardom, they are in a sensitive economic situation and must also assess the seriousness of the intent from other interested clubs such as AC Milan and Newcastle United, and how willing they are for the player’s signing as well.
