The options to choose from for FC Barcelona when it comes to the various opportunities that present themselves in the transfer market are almost endless. Through reports, various new sagas end up developing every few weeks, yet some stay as consistently reported as ever.

A particular position that Barcelona continue to hope to reinforce is that of the right-back slot. Having had to deploy Frenchman Jules Kounde, a central defender by specialty, across almost the entirety of last season to compensate for an actual specialist right-back, Barcelona are looking to avoid having to make risky adjustments like that once again.

While most of the speculation would point towards the potential arrival of Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda, an 18-year-old youngster who currently has an active release clause of around €20 million, an asking price that Barca hopes to have lowered in their negotiations in the future.

However, the option that would undoubtedly be a big difference maker would be that of Manchester City right-back Joao Cancelo, who despite being out of favor under Pep Guardiola, remains one of the absolutes when it comes to elite fullbacks in world football.

His signing was already complicated for Barcelona due to primarily financial reasons, but now it seems that the Catalans are in for an even harder time should they wish to acquire the Portuguese star courtesy of a new entry in his list of suitors.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Serie A side Inter Milan are now among those interested in bringing in the 29-year-old fullback to Italy in order to enhance their own squad quality.

Having already faced off against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final this year, losing to the English side by a singular goal, Inter hope to invest in a way that allows them to continue their display of potential in their squad as they look to stay relevant in European football.

FC Barcelona will soon need to make their interest in the player clear if they do wish to indeed count on him for next season. If they fail to do so, interested clubs like Arsenal and now Inter Milan will take that initiative themselves and deny Barca any chance of bringing him to the Catalan city.
