FC Barcelona have ended the game against Rayo Vallecano with a much-needed victory away from home. Thanks to this win, the Catalan club has added to their perfect tally with another three points. Thus far, Barcelona have managed to win all nine out of nine points for grabs in La Liga.
While the comeback was a valiant one, La Blaugrana will not be leaving Vallecas fully satisfied or happy. That is because, beyond just the stressful game, the Catalan giants have now managed to lose one of their most prominent prodigies to a rather worrying injury.
According to Toni Juanmarti, Barcelona already fear the worst when it comes to the injury that was sustained by 17-year-old Marc Bernal in his recent appearance against Rayo Vallecano. In an unfortunate collision with an opposition forward, the young midfielder managed to hurt his knee.
Grabbing it for some time before medical staff appeared and had to take the player off the field, Bernal was then treated and assessed by the Barcelona staff. Unfortunately, the 17-year-old continued to limp and did not come back on the field once he left it.
Speaking about it after the game, Hansi Flick confirmed that the team was incredibly worried about the player’s injury: “Nobody in the dressing room is happy. Marc Bernal’s situation doesn’t look good. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow…”
So far, the player’s teammates themselves seem incredibly worried regarding the youngster’s injury. Despite putting in a great shift and a strong performance to help his team get the victory, Bernal’s untimely injury could be a devastating blow to both the club and the player.
Tests are yet to be done, and only those will confirm what the final diagnosis is. So far, however, feelings are quite negative and there is a heavy suspicion that the young midfield gem has possibly torn or damaged his ACL.
