Barcelona have now become infamously linked with the concept of registering players. While it is a norm for almost every club playing at a significant level, it is perhaps only Barça where it became such a big deal. Over the last few windows, struggling to register their players without problems has become common for Barcelona.

However, with the injury to Gavi and the consequent allocation of some breathing room, Barcelona had better hopes. Their primary intention was to be able to register Vitor Roque with the space created through Gavi’s absence. Ultimately, things are not going to plan it seems.

According to SPORT, Vitor Roque still remains unregistered and Barcelona are now facing some complications. The Catalans originally expected the allocation of salary space that they received to be enough for the Brazilian’s incorporation. However, La Liga’s perspective on the matter begs to differ.

As per the Spanish League, Gavi’s vacated salary space that Barcelona were hoping to make use of is not enough to compensate for Roque’s registration. However, it is believed from within the club that it is only a matter of time before he is registered. This would also be in line with the trend of previous such cases.

Conversations between La Liga and Barcelona continue as they look to find a solution and get the registration wrapped. Moreover, Barça would ensure that incorporation as per the requirements of Xavi, who would be hoping to have the player available against Las Palmas. There is also the possibility of only registering him as a loan player until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old forward has already trained with the group, and looks forward to the game. While the goal still remains to be in the squad for the upcoming La Liga clash, Roque may have to wait for his presentation. Recent updates have confirmed that it has been delayed from the originally scheduled 3rd January date.
