FC Barcelona got another convincing victory in La Liga last night, as a Robert Lewandowski hat-trick helped them get the full three points from the match against Alaves.

With these goals, the Pole has gained vast ground over his rivals in the Pichichi race, as he already has 10 goals in 9 La Liga games. Thus, this was another glorious night for the Barcelona veteran. However, one Blaugrana player for whom this was far from a perfect night is the Spanish forward Ferran Torres.

The 24-year-old winger started this match but lasted only 5 minutes as he had to leave the pitch with a muscle injury in his right leg. Eric Garcia replaced him in the team, and Raphinha moved out to the wings with this change.

Barcelona have now published a medical report on the player, which confirms that he has an injury in the biceps femoris of the right leg. The official statement from the club on this subject went as:

“Tests carried out on the first team player Ferran Torres confirm that he has an injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his right thigh. His return to training will be dependent on his recovery.”

Although the club has not provided a time frame for his recovery, SPORT estimates that this issue will keep him out for 7-8 weeks, and he will be able to return to the field only in early December.

Thus, Flick will not have Torres available for a very difficult stretch of the season which starts after the end of this international break. Following the return to club football, Barcelona will face Sevilla, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid in a matter of around one week.

Furthermore, Torres will be unable to play in November as well and will miss the games against Espanyol, Red Star, Real Sociedad, and Celta Vigo.

He can return in one of the games against Brest or Las Palmas. Torres will also miss Spain’s matches in the upcoming international break, as he had already been named in the squad before suffering this injury.
