Just as things begin to look brighter in FC Barcelona, more vulnerabilities begin to show up. Over the course of this summer, the club was hopeful about getting some of their injured players on the right track to recovery. Unfortunately for Barcelona, that list continues to grow rather than shrink in size.
While the likes of 19-year-old Barcelona defender Gavi continue to make great leaps in their recovery process, others continue to settle into their realities. However, the latest update from the official Barcelona sources has not been a very positive one for the club.
As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo and also confirmed by the official sources of FC Barcelona, 21-year-old Spanish forward Ansu Fati has now suffered another injury during his latest training session while working under the guidance of new Barcelona coach Hansi Flick and his other physical trainers.
According to official club sources, the player has suffered an injury to the sole of his right foot and is expected to undergo conservative recovery without the need for surgical intervention within Barcelona. Unfortunately for both the club and the player, this would mean that the youngster cannot travel with the squad for their pre-season tour to the United States of America.
For Ansu Fati, this tour was expected to be crucial. With an uncertain future and a worrying history of injuries, Barcelona were not too sure about where Fati’s future would take him.
However, the player was determined to prove his quality and importance by working hard during the training sessions and hoping to impress his coaches during the pre-season tour. Instead, the player will now continue his recovery rather than regain match fitness by playing top sides such as the likes of AC Milan, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.
Hansi Flick was even previously reported to have prepared some additional training programs specifically for Fati as well, but it seems that the road to recovery is now all the Spaniard can focus on for now.
