FC Barcelona have a number of players away on international duty. This international break comes at an opportune time for some of these players, especially those who are not enjoying the best of forms at the Catalan club.

As already reported, this has been the case with the Brazilian winger, Raphinha, who had a good game with Brazil in which he scored and assisted to help his side win 5-1 against Bolivia. This performance will help him recover his currently poor form in Barcelona as well.

Lewandowski finding his form with Poland

Another Barcelona player who has not had an optimal start to the season is the striker Robert Lewandowski. While the striker has played all the games for Barcelona this season, he has scored only two goals, leading to criticism of his form from different fronts.

However, the striker was able to score a goal from the penalty spot in the last match against Osasuna, so he headed into the international break with a somewhat improved form that he had enjoyed previously.

He played with Poland against the Faroe Islands in their latest match, in which he scored two goals. However, the most interesting thing came after these goals as Lewandowski celebrated these goals with some peculiar gestures.

Peculiar celebrations

As has been reported by Mundo Deportivo, after scoring one of the goals, Lewandowski celebrated by first putting his hands on his face, covering his eyes, ears, and mouth in turn. This celebration left much room for interpretation, especially in the backdrop of the criticism he has been facing in Barcelona.

The striker himself was asked about his celebration, but he did not give away much in the post-match media talk:

“It’s a family secret, our secret. Today is Anna’s birthday, and she knows what it means and what I wanted to convey.”

One way in which this celebration has been interpreted is through the story of the three wise monkeys from Japan. From this tradition, Lewandowski’s gestures could be understood to mean “see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil”. However, only Lewandowski, and may his spouse, know what his gestures actually meant for now.
