When the Frenchman first showed physical discomfort during the January clash against Girona, the player quickly asked to be switched off not long after. Being the first time since November of 2021 that Ousmane Dembele will be having to miss games due to an injury, the player’s progress in terms of his recovery is a nervy affair for fans of FC Barcelona.
Yet, despite previous cases of Dembele’s impatience and unprofessional attitude towards his recovery and other sporting aspects, the FC Barcelona winger is now truly a different individual.
Much calmer and more attentive to his physical limitations and recovery now, the player is expected to return after the originally reported 4-5 week timespan, and is currently into the second week of his ongoing recovery.
FC Barcelona can rest assured with the fact that their French winger is taking his injury, that being in the rectus femoris of the left thigh, rather seriously this time around and working around the clock alongside his personal physio, Carlos Nogueira, to overcome it within the time frame.
The player acknowledges the work he has done in prior years to eclipse his inability to maintain his physical form and remain injury free and is adamant on not letting that work and effort go to waste.
This is in line with an interview he did with SPORT a couple of months ago where he himself admitted to being aware of the fact that he would need to work harder and be more professional if he wanted to climb and retain himself amongst the elite of football.
According to SPORT themselves, the player will soon be starting the next phase of his recovery on the grass, as up until now the player had been working mostly indoors with equipment such as the bike for improving his length strength and durability during recovery, an important step towards returning to full fitness.
