Following a disappointing loan spell at AC Milan, Sergiño Dest is set to return to Barcelona this summer. However, as the club is not counting on his services in the future, and given the large market he has, the club can take advantage of the situation and generate a good amount of income from a possible transfer.
Dest spent this season on loan at Milan, but it’s safe to say he failed to make an impression and had a rather underwhelming campaign, having only 14 appearances across all competitions, mainly when the main fullbacks, Theo Hernández and Davide Calabria were unavailable.
The loan deal with the Rossoneri included a non-mandatory purchase option, but the Italian club has already confirmed their decision of not to exercise the clause. Thus, the American will return to Barcelona at the end of the season, and the club will put him back on the transfer market in the hope to sell him permanently.
The latest news coming indicates that one of Sergiño Dest’s agents revealed that three Premier League clubs are interested in the American right-back according to a recent report from SPORT. FC Barcelona hopes to benefit from the serious interest shown in the 22-year-old fullback, but, to make it clear, everything is quite in a preliminary stage as of now.
The agent also added that there are still no advances with any club, assuring that Dest will first return to Barcelona and talk to the club’s management, and then decide about the future. Anyhow, the American player has a large market, with the likes of Union Berlin already showing interest in the footballer.
Moreover, Barcelona would like to include him in the Yannick Carrasco deal, exchanging the two players with Atlético Madrid. The Colchoneros are also looking for a right-back in the market, so the future remains open for Dest with several options on the table.
