There is a lot of hype around the final of the Spanish Super Cup between Barcelona and Real Madrid. It is often always a spectacle to behold whenever these two eternal rivals lock horns in any competition. However, with the first title of the season at stake, neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid will want to slip up.

Heading into the clash, both sides will also want to field their strongest possible lineups. However, therein lies some concern for Barcelona when speaking about that ideal situation. Having already lost Raphinha to an injury in the clash against Osasuna, there was another player also struggling in that game.

Young Barcelona fullback Alejandro Balde was seen consistently having some problems with his back. Many assumed that this must not be something serious or simply glanced away from it, but just recently, more information has been provided by Xavi himself.

As highlighted by SPORT, the Barcelona coach has confirmed that there was indeed some physical discomfort for Balde. The coach stated:

“Balde played with a backache against Osasuna, but he showed resilience and personality to continue.”

Moreover, the coach confirmed that he will be completely ready to take on the challenge of Los Blancos as well. Furthermore, the Barcelona manager also pointed out exactly how he could be of use to the side:

“He will contribute a lot, both on the outside and inside. Real Madrid will closely watch that left flank, knowing we have significant potential.”

Knowing that at least Balde will be available for Barcelona is great news. The Catalan giants are already suffering from a lot of injuries this season, and it is already extremely difficult to cope with the season’s demands. However, as players gradually begin to recover, Barcelona seem to look better and better.
