Barcelona gem continues to decide games with his goals – report

FC Barcelona regularly seems to outdo themselves with the quality of talent they produce. The Catalan club has many different kinds of players developing within the subsidiary but only a handful truly stand out enough to gain recognition from the first team.

One such player from recent memory is 17-year-old forward Marc Guiu. The youngster is a product of Barça’s who had previously not even played any significant minutes with Barcelona Atletic but still managed to turn heads due to his impressive goal-scoring ability and physical attributes.

Xavi Hernandez was among the first to truly acknowledge his abilities and give him the platform to display them. Ever since then, the player has not only scored a good amount of goals, but he has scored ones that are decisive to the results of games, as per SPORT.

His first taste of such a goal came for the first team of Barcelona this season against Athletic Bilbao. A La Liga clash that the Catalan giants desperately needed to get another three points from, it was locked for a great while with no goals scored.

In steps young Marc Guiu for his debut with the first team as a substitute coming on. Within only 33 seconds of him stepping on, the youngster made the Montjuic cheer. Scoring the only goal of the game, the 17-year-old became a dream-like hero for the first team.

However, he did not stop there. Within the same week, he was called up by Rafa Marquez to help Barcelona Atletic. After being subbed on in the 79th minute of the game, it would take close to ten more minutes for the youngster to win them the game.

In the 92nd minute, Guiu struck gold once again. A clean shot with his left foot would get the subsidiary side all three points and Guiu would be left smiling as he celebrated another game-winning goal for yet another side within the Barcelona family.

Now, he does not stop making history for himself and his country. Playing for the Under-17 Spain side in Indonesia for the World Cup of the same category, he has already begun to leave his mark in the best way that he knows how.

In the opening group game against Canada, Guiu would score the first goal of the game. With a well-placed headed goal, the Barcelona forward would be the first name on the scoresheet in a 2-0 victory over the Canadians.

Moreover, in the latest game against Japan in the knockout stage, Guiu has scored once again. His goal made the scoreline 2-1 in favor of Spain and allows that European side to continue onwards in the competition as they reach the quarter-final stage of the completion.
