Barcelona continue to wait on their injured stars to return as 2024 kicks off. Their first obstacle comes in the form of UD Las Palmas, and it is set to be a tough encounter. However, Barcelona will want to start off their new year as strong as possible to ensure no more errors.

Speaking about injured stars, however, at least three Barça players are expected to return rather late. Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Gavi, and Marcos Alonso all have their respective injuries to recover from and it will take some time for them to return.

However, both Inigo Martinez and Pedri seem likely to return much sooner. In fact, speaking on a Twitch stream recently, Pedri confirmed that his return will take place soon, although he did not give a proper date. Something else he did mention, as per SPORT, also catches the eye.

While speaking on the stream, the 21-year-old highlighted the one player he would sign for FC Barcelona:

“For Barça, I would sign Haaland. He scores many goals. Lewandowski won’t last until 60 years old. Julián Álvarez is also playing very well.”

Erling Haaland remains one of the biggest names in football as of right now. Having won the treble with Manchester City only last season, he continues to be a great footballing talent. However, for obvious financial reasons, his signing seems well beyond Barça’s capabilities for now.

The Barcelona midfielder also talked about Vitor Roque. Barça’s latest arrival, Roque received nothing but good words from Pedri:

“Vitor Roque is a guy who is always smiling. Brazilians always convey that magic. He’s a very young player, and we can’t yet ask him to be the new Pelé, but he’s a player with a lot of confidence.”

For now, Pedri continues to recover and return to his best gradually. As per recent reports, he will likely travel with the team to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup. However, his involvement will depend on his own sensations.
