The search for Xavi Hernandez’s replacement at FC Barcelona is continuing unabated, but there is still a lot of uncertainty regarding who the next head coach at the club will be.

The Catalans are looking for a coach with proven quality in Europe, and understand that the club cannot afford to make a mistake in this choice of the next manager.

As things stand, Jurgen Klopp, who is going to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, is the favorite of Joan Laporta. Barcelona will try to convince him to take up the mantle at the Catalan club, but he has already shown a desire to rest for the next season.

Now, SPORT reports that another name that is gaining increasing popularity at the club’s offices is another German, Thomas Tuchel, who is currently managing the Bayern Munich team.

A few weeks ago, Tuchel joining Barcelona would have been practically impossible. However, these past weeks have seen a lot of tension generated at the Bavarian club, and the tactician himself is not clear whether he can continue working in Munich.

Tuchel has always wanted to manage one of the big clubs in Spain, and if Barcelona offers him a top-level project, the German will certainly value the proposal and consider it with all seriousness.

Tuchel has only now been linked with Barcelona and his arrival at the Catalan club will involve a lot of complications as things stand.

However, the Blaugranes want to finalize their choice of the next head coach by the first week of March at the latest, in order to let the newcomer have a significant amount of time to plan for the upcoming season.

This time will be needed by the next manager as the club needs to make a lot of decisions regarding the players that it wants to retain and sell.
