The story of FC Barcelona and one of their most prized summer targets could be set to come to an end this month if La Blaugrana are unable to revisit the operation with a newfound economic ability and feasible plan.

Bernardo Silva of Manchester City remains quite possibly one of the best players in Europe at the moment given his displays over recent seasons and in particular his performances last season that helped guide his English side to a continental treble.

The Barcelona target remains one of the most sought out properties in not just Europe but the world over with clubs interested in his signing ranging from PSG to even Saudi Arabian clubs. However, his own preference leans towards Barcelona, and at no point has that been a secret.

Yet, despite all the attempts by La Blaugrana to produce and formulate a financial offer that would ultimately allow them to bring the 28-year-old Portuguese midfielder to Barcelona, it appears that a possible arrival for the midfielder will become close to impossible this summer if a significant sale is not made soon.

As a result, according to Spanish outlet SPORT, the player has given FC Barcelona a deadline until the end of the coming week to convince Manchester City with a financial formula that would allow the Portuguese star to don the Blaugrana colors next season.

Moreover, if Barcelona fail to produce such an offer for the player, he will most likely accept the renewal proposal offered by Manchester City as he remains grateful to the club and his manager Pep Guardiola for their continued faith and trust in him.

For now, the arrival of Bernardo Silva at Barcelona remains an improbable dream that could see the Catalan club lose out on a player that has been a priority target since a couple of seasons yet again this summer.
