Despite making several additions to their squad in the 2023 summer transfer window, FC Barcelona were unable to win any piece of silverware last season.

Several factors were responsible for this failure on the part of the Blaugranes, but one such factor, for which they cannot be blamed, was the severe injuries suffered by some of their important players.

For instance, Marc Andre Ter Stegen developed a back issue for which he had to undergo surgery and thus missed a significant number of games in the middle of the season. Similarly, Alejandro Balde also had a hamstring injury from which he is still recovering, and he too had to miss a significant part of the season.

Furthermore, the Golden Boy of FC Barcelona, Gavi, suffered a complete tear of the ACL in his right knee, along with an injury to his external meniscus. He sustained these injuries while playing for Spain against Georgia. As a result, Gavi missed almost the entire season with Barcelona and was unable to represent Spain in the UEFA EURO 2024.

But thankfully, Gavi’s recovery appears to be progressing well. As Mundo Deportivo has noted, this is evident from an image shared by the midfielder on his social media, where he is seen engaging in an intense workout in the gym, showcasing a noticeably more muscular physique.

The youngster shared this picture with two hearts representing Barcelona colors, and a fist showing his commitment to come back stronger.

The pre-season for Barcelona is set to start on 10th July, with the medical check-ups to be undertaken on the same day. Gavi will not be able to train at the same pace as his fully fit teammates, and the club also does not want to rush his return.

So he will continue with his recovery process and will hopefully join the rest of the squad when he has fully recovered from this serious issue.
