The January transfer window is going to begin in less than one month, and FC Barcelona will have several tasks on their hands to complete in that window.

The first priority of the Catalans will be the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, while they are also looking to conclude the renewals of Pedri and Gavi in January. Similarly, they will also have to address Ansu Fati’s situation and ensure his departure if he decides to join another team in search of minutes.

However, there are no new signings expected in January, and Barcelona will have to wait till next summer to strengthen their squad.

But according to Fichajes, the Blaugranes have already closed their first signing for that window, as the German defender Jonathan Tah has agreed to join Barcelona at the end of this season, as the Catalans have reached an agreement in principle with his agent, Pini Zahavi, for this purpose.

The 28-year-old defender is one of the pillars of Bayer Leverkusen, the team that had a marvelous last season in which they were crowned the champions of the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal, and also reached the Europa League final.

Tah brings a lot of solidity and leadership with his presence, which could make him a strategic signing for Barcelona. However, this potential signing could have important implications for the current Blaugrana team.

The Catalans already have a surplus of defenders, and if Tah were to join, they would be open to selling some of their center-backs. Among the names who could leave are Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo, two players in high demand on the market who could provide Barcelona with a significant cash injection.

Hansi Flick also knows the center-back well since his time as the head coach of the German national team, and there is no doubt that his incorporation will provide Barcelona with another interesting option in the backline.
