FC Barcelona are blessed to have one of the best strikers in the world playing for them. At 36, Robert Lewandowski is putting up astonishing numbers, outscoring the likes of Erling Haaland, who was considered the best striker in the world last season.

However, the Catalan club knows that it must plan for the future, and signing a young, talented striker to complement Lewandowski and eventually take over from him will be crucial in the coming seasons.

One name that is on the lips of all the top clubs around the world is Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. Just a couple of days ago, we covered a story revealing how Barcelona could use Vitor Roque in a swap deal to sign the Swedish striker.

Now, as per another report from SPORT, Barcelona have two tricks up their sleeve to sign the talented 26-year-old striker. One of those tricks is obviously using Roque in the deal. It is worth noting that Sporting were interested in the Brazilian back in the summer but the player chose Real Betis instead.

If Gyokeres was to leave next summer, as he is said to have an agreement to leave for a fee close to €60-70 million with the club, there is a good chance that Sporting CP look at Roque as a potential replacement for Swede. The Brazilian teenager has been in good form for Betis so far this season.

The other trick that Barcelona possess in their pursuit of Gyokeres is their former player Francisco Trincao. It is worth remembering that the talented Portuguese winger spent a season at the Catalan club and had his moments.

Trincão has since moved to Sporting CP, where he has realized his potential as one of the best young wingers in the world. When Barcelona sold him, they included a 50% sell-on clause in his contract for when the Portuguese club sells him. Deco could use a portion of this to negotiate a better deal for Gyökeres.

This is not totally unprecedented for the Portuguese side as they reached a similar agreement with Tottenham over the transfer of Pedro Porro, with the North London club waiving off 15% of their sell-on clause on Marcus Edwards to get a favorable deal on the Spanish defender. Barcelona can take a page out of this playbook to sign Gyokeres and let’s wait and see how it plays out.
