There are certain contractual cases at FC Barcelona that must be addressed as urgently as possible. After all, the club has faced situations in the past where even slight negligence can result in big issues and consequences. Now, however, Barcelona wishes to avoid such mistakes.

Instead, especially when it comes to contract renewals, the Catalan club is fully committed to sorting things out timely. By giving priority to urgent renewals, Barcelona has already managed to renew several key players timely and efficiently.

Ronald Araujo, Gerard Martin, Pedri, Gavi, and now even Pau Cubarsi have renewed their contracts with the Catalan giants. However, it seems that Barcelona is still far from done and the club has other players as well whose current deals they wish to address.

One of those players, according to SPORT, is French defender Jules Kounde. The Barcelona right-back currently has a contract that ends in 2027, and the club reportedly wants to reach an agreement with the player that will see him extend his stay until 2030.

Moreover, the 26-year-old French defender is fully committed to Barcelona and is happy as well. Despite some issues initially with his new position within the team, it would now seem that Kounde has embraced his place as a right-back and he certainly seems to have cemented himself as one of the very best in the world.

While it is true that Kounde’s renewal may not be an urgent requirement, it is still something that the club is hoping to address in time. Furthermore, once the Frenchman’s contract is sorted out, Barcelona will have a very good base in terms of renewing the contracts of their defensive players across all positions.

Even apart from Kounde, Barcelona have both Hector Fort and Ronald Araujo as reliable alternative options. While the 26-year-old Barcelona defender remains the first-choice pick as the team’s primary right-back, both Fort and Araujo are some great options to have as well for Hansi Flick.
