Over the years, there have been several players who have made the FC Barcelona fans fall in love with them. But there are only a few players who have proven themselves to be the very best in their positions and have got their talents recognized by even the fans of their biggest rivals.

One such player in the latter category was the midfielder Andres Iniesta, who was clearly one of the best players of his time. Rising up from the youth ranks at the Blaugrana club, Iniesta went on to become one of the key players for his team between 2002 and 2018, the year he left the club to join the Japanese side, Vissel Kobe.

Last year, he left the Japanese side to play in the United Arab Emirates with Emirates Club. However, SPORT reports that the Spaniard might now be ready to hang up his boots as he is already 40 years old, and will hold an event in Barcelona on October 8th to announce his decision for the future.

Thus, Iniesta will directly convey his plans to the fans and set out his professional plans for the future. He had already indicated in the past that he might start his studies to become a coach after retiring as a player.

The player himself has not confirmed this decision yet, but if he does retire, he can still boast of a career that few professional players can match. The former Barcelona talisman has 38 titles to his name, 32 of which were won with Barcelona, 2 with Vissel Kobe, and another 3 with the Spanish national team.

The latter of these two titles include two UEFA EUROs and a World Cup, which he helped his team win by scoring the only goal in the final against The Netherlands in 2010.

Now at 40 years of age, Andres Iniesta is going to end his professional career with Emirates Club, but will be remembered mostly for his time at Barcelona, where he was one the integral components of Pep Guardiola’s legendary team.
