Regardless of their future objectives in the market, Barcelona remain adamant that a priority of theirs that must be tended to sooner rather than later is the sale of surplus players within the squad.

One player that Barcelona believe needs to be on the exit ramp as soon as possible is Spanish forward Ferran Torres, who is currently considered to be surplus to requirements at the Catalan club and proceeds to take up both space within the squad and within the salary budget that Barca believe could be better allocated elsewhere.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona currently continue to look for potential suitors for their 23-year-old Spanish forward in order to offload him. However, the Catalan club have a few different conditions under which they would see the Spaniard leave.

Barcelona either want a loan spell for the player that sees him leave for two seasons or a permanent transfer that sees a transfer fee of at least €40 million be secured in exchange for his departure.

The report speculates that the latter seems unlikely at the moment, given his drop in value following his descend down the hierarchy among the forwards at Barcelona. Moreover, most European teams consider it an amount they would be unwilling to invest on him.

On the other hand, the loan prospect is one that turns the head of many. Teams like Atletico Madrid and Villarreal have showcased interest, but his high salary is something that turns the latter away a little. Yet, the main hurdle remains the reluctance of the player himself.

Given his adamant stance on staying at Barcelona, convincing him to leave will be a tough negotiation to crack down. However, it is one that Barcelona deem necessary given that it even potentially blockades the possible integration of Ez Abde in the team, with Barca valuing the Moroccan winger highly.
