Being one of the biggest football clubs in the world, FC Barcelona are constantly on the lookout for the brightest footballers with high potential to be future superstars. One such player that the Catalan club has been eyeing in recent times is Gianluca Prestianni.
A right winger who has impressed with his attributes of dribbling, speed, and talent, made a debut with the first team of Velez Sarsfield only at the age of 16. Now 17 years old, he is one of the foremost names on the club’s team sheet.
His position in the team and among the fans was clearly on showcase when he entered the pitch for the first time this season against Banfield, and the fans gave him a huge ovation.
According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona are highly interested in the player and has already set aside €3 million to pay the release clause of the youngster this coming summer. He is a part of the planned reinforcements that the club intends to bring to Catalonia to get back to winning ways in Spain and Europe.
However, FC Barcelona are not the only European powerhouse that has shown interest in the Argentine winger. Real Madrid were interested in the player as soon as he made his debut with the Velez Sarsfield first team, but their interest cooled down in the ensuing months.
Benfica and Sevilla, both of whom are known for buying high-potential players and developing and selling them for huge profits, have also shown considerable interest in the winger.
Meanwhile, Prestianni is continuously growing as a player. He is expected to be a part of the Argentina U-20 team, headed by former Barcelona player Javier Mascherano. He has also been named among the top 50 talents born after 2004 by GOAL for their NXGN award.
