La Blaugrana are scouring the market for a new right-back and Diogo Dalot’s name is the most touted one among the Barcelona ranks when it comes to reinforcing the right-back spot in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Catalan club is exploring the possibility to bring the Portuguese right-back to Camp Nou next season as he is considered a viable option for the Catalan giants given their financial situation and the coaching staff considers him fit for Barcelona’s style of play as well, but at the moment, his arrival looks very complicated.
As per the recent reports from Sport, Manchester United have already called upon the player’s entourage after the World Cup to hold the renewal talks. The Portuguese right-back has become an undisputed starter under Erik Ten Hag this season for the Old Trafford-based side.
Diogo Dalot’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season and the Red Devils are already chalking up plans to tie Dalot down to a new long-term deal with the club. It seems that the Red Devils are convinced with his performances and believe that the player also wants to stay at Old Trafford for years and continue his development under Erik Ten Hag.
However, the Catalan club have taken the opportunity to try to convince the Portuguese right-back to join them as a free agent next summer. Mateu Alemany has already carried out the conversations with the player’s entourage regarding a possible move to Camp Nou but the final decision will rest upon the player himself.
