FC Barcelona have one of the most talented squads in Europe, despite the squad’s relatively young age. This adds even more excitement for the future, as the players are likely to continue improving as they approach their primes. Even now, the players are already performing at a very high level.

Aside from Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Inigo Martinez, and Robert Lewandowski, most of the squad is relatively young or in their prime. Even the latter two veterans have been in sensational form so far this season. Unfortunately, the German goalkeeper is currently sidelined by injury.

Diving in further specifically, Barcelona are blessed to have arguably the best right-winger in world football at the moment. The cherry on the cake is that he is just 17 years old. He goes by the name Lamine Yamal and has been incredibly consistent so far this season.

Despite this, as per SPORT, Barcelona are linked with a free transfer for Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian winger is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal. This has prompted links of an exit.

However, despite the Barcelona links, these claims seem baseless for multiple reasons. First and foremost, as mentioned before, the club already has the best right winger in the world at the moment and the last thing they will want to do is take game time away from Lamine Yamal.

The second reason is that Salah is 32-years-old and despite his top form, he might not have long left at the top of the game. Make no mistake, he is a legend of the game but there is no point bringing in someone of that age, especially with Robert Lewandowski in the forward line.

The third reason that this transfer is a strict ‘AVOID’ for Barcelona is the financial strain it would include. Salah is one of the best-paid players in England and will surely demand a hefty weekly salary. The last thing the club wants to do is dent their wage budget again.

Thus, these links have to be taken with a pinch of salt. It is highly unlikely that Salah will find himself in a Barcelona jersey next season. There doesn’t seem to be much legs to it but only time will tell how this particular saga pans out.
