FC Barcelona have in recent times been linked with some prodigious and emerging Brazilian talents, particularly forwards. The likes of 16-year-old Palmeiras striker Endrick and 18-year-old Athletico Paranaense forward Vitor Roque are a few that come to mind straight away.
Yet, despite the interest of the Catalans in these selected prodigies, their economic situation has caused them to lose their footing in both scenarios. In the case of Endrick, the ship has completely sailed away, as the player has been acquired by eternal rivals Real Madrid, who will see the young Brazilian gem make his move in the summer of 2024 to the Spanish capital.
And whereas the sage of Vitor Roque is still yet to be played out, recent reports by the English media would suggest Barcelona simply cannot compete with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal on a financial level in the pursuit of Vitor Roque.
Consequently, Barcelona are aiming to keep their options open, as they are now continuing their scouting in Brazil and have reportedly come across a new talent that can be seen as a potential revelation across the footballing world.
16-year old Fluminense FC striker Kaua Elias, who has been sensational in the ongoing 2023 South American U-17 Championship, scoring 4 goals thus far and being the top scorer of the competition alongside Argentine youngster Claudio Echeverri and Paraguayan youngster Rodrigo Villalba, has attracted the interest of the Catalan club, as per reports from SPORT.
Barcelona have their scouting going on within the competition and the reports on the player are heavily positive, with his shooting, finishing, and eye for goal alongside his massive frame of 1.80 m being traits worth mentioning.
Should Barcelona miss out on Vitor Roque, the arrival of Kaua Elias becomes a priority should reports on the player remain positive, although the arrival of the player to Europe will have to wait at least until the summer of 2024 when the youngster will be of age and eligible to make that shift to Europe.
