Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba is on the radar of Juventus – report

Jordi Alba during the game against RCD Espanyol

Jordi Alba has been one of the foundation stones of various Barcelona teams ever since he moved to Catalonia from Valencia in 2012. With his quick acceleration, electric pace, and overall understanding of the game, Alba has been relied upon by almost all the managers that have been in charge of La Blaugrana over the last decade.

Now, even with his advanced age and declining physical attributes, the Spaniard still gives performances that make a case to be considered among the best left-backs in the league.

Being among the best players in his preferred left-back position, the Spaniard has always attracted attention from top clubs over Europe, but he feels comfortable in Barcelona, and never seriously considered leaving the club.

One of the latest clubs to have shown interest in Alba is the Italian side Juventus as per the recent reports from SPORT, who are currently undergoing a period of rebuilding and transition, after enjoying a very successful decade on the top of Italian football. However, Alba is not expected to give his blessing to a transfer away from the club, as he rejected a similar approach from Inter Milan only last year.

However, Barcelona are more than willing to move the defender on. The club believes that they have more than enough depth on the left flank, with Alba, Balde, and Alonso all being an option. Furthermore, the club’s problems with their wage bill and their good relations with the Italian side can also help make this transfer a reality in the near future.
