However, Pique is not focusing on this objective for now, as is clear from a story shared by SPORT. The story claims that an FC Barcelona manager attended the Moto GP races at the Circuit de Catalunya event in Montmelo a few weeks ago.
A number of high-profile individuals were attending this event, and one of these VIPs was Gerard Pique. The manager and Pique had a good relationship from the time when Pique was still playing for Barcelona, and this relationship was further strengthened when Pique let go of a part of his salary after retiring from football last year.
Barcelona presidency not a part of Pique’s plans for now
The two individuals had a pleasant conversation, and the manager went on to ask Pique if he had any plans to contest for the presidential elections at Barcelona. Pique responded that he is currently not highly involved in professional football and has no plans of returning to professional football soon. He is focusing on his business and will not be contesting for the presidency in the coming years.
Thus, Pique is focusing on other priorities in life and we might not see him with Barcelona soon, as hinted in his conversation with the manager.
