FC Barcelona legend, Andres Iniesta, has announced his departure from the Japanese club Vissel Kobe. In his latest remarks on his future plans, the player expressed his desire to get back to Barcelona again.
This Thursday, Iniesta announced his departure from Vissel Kobe because he believed he was losing prominence at the team and would be looking to continue his career at another club in the coming years. However, he did not indicate which club he could join this summer.
Beyond this summer, the player clearly wanted to return to the club where he spent most of his career, i.e., FC Barcelona. However, this return would have to wait as he already has an agreement with Vissel Kobe to remain associated with the Japanese club in the technical or training department.
He also commented on the current situation at FC Barcelona, especially his old teammate and partner in the midfield, Xavi Hernandez. Iniesta expressed a desire to see Xavi in charge of the Barcelona first team for a long time as per Mundo Deportivo. Furthermore, he believed Xavi coaching Barcelona would not only be good for the Catalan club but would be good for football overall.
While such a move is still some time off, FC Barcelona fans would eagerly wait for the day when the legendary midfielder gets associated with the club again. Iniesta kept the Camp Nou audiences at their feet with his magic for several years, during which he also won four UEFA Champions League titles, 9 La Liga titles, and 6 Copa del Rey titles.
With the national team, the player won a World Cup and two UEFA Euro titles. His performances were also recognized by the football world, as he won the UEFA Best Player in Europe award in 2012, while also being recognized as the Footballer of the Year in 2009.
Thus, him coming back to FC Barcelona would not only bring the memories of Barcelona’s golden years but would also bring his winning mentality back at the club.
