Barcelona winger Abde Ezzalzouli has recently been enjoying a great loan spell at Osasuna during the 2022/2023 La Liga season. The player finds himself getting both minutes and praise in regard to his performances under Jagoba Arrasate’s tutelage. Yet, as the end of the season comes closer and closer, his future remains a hot topic.

Loaned to Osasuna in order to supervise and assess his development in an environment where the winger would have more freedom as well as more time to be evaluated against top-level opponents on a consistent basis.

Having scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists, the Moroccan-born forward has been pivotal to Osasuna season-long beyond just his goal contributions. Consequently, courtesy of his fine form, the player has garnered interest from the likes of several Premier League clubs and most recently according to emerging reports from SPORT, Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

Los Colchoneros find themselves monitoring the young winger’s development and future at FC Barcelona, and would be keen on potentially acquiring his services should the opportunity arrive. Reportedly, Barcelona do not intend to send Abde on another loan following his return to the club and will finalize their decision on whether to keep the player at the club or put him up for a permanent transfer.

The club will make this decision based on a plethora of reasons ranging from the economical standpoint of the necessity of raising funds, or the sporting standpoint according to which the need of another winger will be assessed in relation to departures as well as potential new arrivals.

Ferran Torres is another player Atletico Madrid are monitoring and reportedly like, while the Catalans themselves have a figurative agreement of around €15 million for the transfer of Yannick Carrasco should they choose to exercise that option available to them. Alas, it seems that Abde’s future will be quite the interesting story to follow come the upcoming summer transfer window, and definitely, one to keep an eye out for.
