Francisco Trincao, the 23-year-old Portuguese winger on loan from Barcelona to Sporting CP, has reportedly caught the attention of several teams after regaining his starting position in recent games under the tutelage of Rúben Amorim.
According to the reports of Sportwitness, Newcastle united is one of the clubs keeping a close eye on the young player from Viana do Castelo. Sporting CP paid Barcelona €3 million for his loan and will have to pay an additional €7 million stipulated in a mandatory buyout clause to permanently acquire the 50% of the rights of the player at the end of this season.
Despite the interest from other teams, sources close to Trincao have told Portuguese media outlet ‘A Bola’ that the player is currently focused on the objectives of his current club, saying “he is very happy at Sporting and does not want to think about anything other than achieving the club’s objectives for this season.”
Trincao’s performance in recent games has caught the attention of many, and it will be interesting to see if Newcastle or any other teams make a move for the talented young player. However, for now, it seems that Trincao is content to focus on helping Sporting Club de Portugal achieve success in the current season.
