Losing players to injury is something that FC Barcelona have become rather accustomed to. The Catalan giants are aware of the problems that can be faced both in the short-term and long-term whenever injuries are involved, but it still remains a rather unpredictable blow to take on.

While certain players in the current squad also faced injuries, many have returned. Marc Andre Ter Stegen and Gavi, for now, both remain injured and have undergone surgery to continue recovering. However, there are those beyond just Barcelona itself that are important to the club.

Ansu Fati, aged 21, was once a prodigious talent of La Masia destined for greatness. However, consistent injuries and irregularities stopping him from playing have taken a huge toll on the player. A loss of confidence was met with obvious physical hindrances, and a slow decline was visible.

To restart his career in the best possible way, the Spanish forward took to Brighton in the Premier League. Currently there on loan, the forward was just beginning to find his footing. However, he also succumbed to a muscular injury while playing against Nottingham Forest.

As highlighted by SPORT, even though early forecasts were dire, the bad news is now confirmed. Roberto De Zerbi, head coach of Brighton, confirms that Ansu Fati is set to be out of action for a couple of months:

“The news about Ansu Fati is that I think he needs three months from the first day of the injury to recover.”

This confirms that the Barcelona loanee is set to be unavailable for Brighton at least until March. A huge blow for both the Catalan giants and Brighton as well, given the improved trajectory that the young forward was finally on.

“It’s bad news for us because he was playing better, he understood the idea better,” said the Brighton manager as he further stated: “I’m sorry for him, I’m sorry for the team.”

For now, the player will focus on his recovery within Barcelona. Bojan Krkic, alongside others, will remain closely connected to him. They will hope to help Fati make the most of his recovery time knowing what he has been through.
