The young American right back, Sergiño Dest, arrived at San Siro over a loan spell earlier this summer looking to revive his career after he was out of favor at Camp Nou. However, all has not gone well for him in the Rossoneri camp. He’s plagued with fitness issues, and only racked up a meager 151 minutes of Gametime in the season’s first half.
The grass hasn’t been greener for Dest in Milan as his struggles in form and fitness have seen Davide Calabria being opted for the right back spot or Milan switching to a back 3 leaving Dest on the bench.
According to new reports from the outlet Diario Sport, La Blaugrana also have no intentions of giving him another shot once he returns after running down his loan deal next season. Catalan giants don’t want to invest further into American International, who has been underwhelming ever since he came here from the Dutch giants, Ajax.
Not only him, but also Hector Bellerin could possibly be leaving the side along with him as well. He has also looked subpar after he returned from his last injury.
Barca have been linked with several right backs and Arnau Martinez’s name has been the most touted. It is yet to be known if the Catalan giants will be serious in the hunt for the Spanish international but we can only wait for the January transfer window to see whether the club has enough room on the wage bill to reinforce the squad.
