Although they did not make any changes in their squad in the last winter transfer window, FC Barcelona will be significantly more active in the next summer transfer window as they want to strengthen several positions in their squad.

The area that the Catalans want to reinforce with the highest priority is attack, as they want a top-level player who can play at the left wing to imbalance defenses but one who can also play as a false 9.

Last summer, the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams was the top transfer target for the Blaugranes, and there was speculation that the Catalans will once again try to land him in 2025 as they filed to get him last year.

However, this season, his performances have not been at last year’s level, while Barcelona’s relationship with the Basque club is also not good because of the Negreira case.

In such a context, Mundo Deportivo has highlighted several candidates that can still strengthen the forward line for Barcelona in the coming summer.

The player most liked by the Catalan club is the Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, whose contract is expiring in 2027 and who has not yet renewed it. He has never hidden his love for the Blaugrana club, and also has the ability to score goals and apply pressure up front, but the Premier League side will not be selling him cheap.

Another player high on Barcelona’s agenda is the Portuguese winger Rafael Leao, who is not a priority but who is emerging as a market opportunity for the Blaugranes. Although he has not shown any signs of growth this season, there are no doubts about his quality, and Jorge Mendes, although not his agent, can also play a part in realizing his move to the Catalan club.

For the number 9 position, Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak is the most attractive option for Barcelona, even ahead of Viktor Gyokeres and Jonathan David.

He has the profile to be a good replacement for Robert Lewandowski and also has experience playing in La Liga, but the Magpies will not sell him for cheap, especially as Liverpool and Arsenal might also try to land him.

For now, the Blaugranes have a set forward trio of Lewandowski, Yamal, and Raphinha. But if they are able to add another forward who can excel in a dual role, it will provide a great degree of depth to the Barcelona attack by covering both the left wing and the central attacking positions.
