With various departures being sorted out by Barcelona as quickly as possible, namely the cases of Ousmane Dembele and Franck Kessie, the Catalans have now decided to turn their attention towards bringing in their priority arrivals.
For some time now, the movements at right-back have gotten quite advanced for La Blaugrana as they look to reinforce said position in light of looking for a reliable specialist. The name of Joao Cancelo continues to ring the loudest.
However, it seems that Barcelona will instead now be looking to divert their complete attention towards another Manchester City star, one that has eluded the clutches of La Blaugrana since quite sometime before as well.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona are now turning their utmost attention towards the arrival of Manchester City and Portuguese National team midfielder Bernardo Silva in a race to bring him to the Catalan capital.
FC Barcelona believe that with the insistence and proven desire of Bernardo Silva to come to Barcelona, it will be a more probable task to convince Pep Guardiola of Manchester City to open the doors for the Portuguese international to join a club he has been dreaming of since the days of Messi, Iniesta, and Xavi.
From the perspective of City, however, as long as Blaugranes can conjure up a strong financial proposal they will not otherwise stand in the way of the Portuguese departing. One of the most sought-after players in world football as of right now, he has already rejected offers from both a Saudi Arabian side and PSG as well according to Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona, on the other hand, now have complete consensus to push for the 28-year-old’s arrival with Barcelona President Joan Laporta, Mateu Alemany, and Deco all in agreement that the player’s arrival would upgrade this Barcelona squad despite the departure of Ousmane Dembele.
The player remains adamant on his desire to move to Barcelona, but continues to insist that the Catalan club must evolve the operation promptly so that Manchester City has enough time to search for a replacement, as he holds massive respect for his current side.
Barcelona have accelerated their current exits in order to generate the required funds to be able to accommodate and facilitate the potential arrival of the Portuguese midfielder and prove their own desire to seriously compete for his transfer this summer.
