Although he still has been able to get highly favorable results, there is no doubt that Hansi Flick has had to operate with very limited resources at the start of his career at FC Barcelona.

The club’s financial problems kept them from bringing in the required players in the last summer transfer window, while the injuries suffered by several important members of the first team further cut down the options that Flick had at his disposal.

Midfield was one of the most affected areas, as Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Marc Bernal, Fermin Lopez, and Dani Olmo all had to miss games with injuries.

However, the last few weeks have been rather kind to Flick in this regard, as Frenkie de Jong has already made his return to the pitch. Furthermore, Gavi has also been reported to be in the final stages of his recovery and can return to play for Flick in the coming weeks.

In fact, Flick is planning to reintroduce him to competitive football in the match against Sevilla on 20th October. Meanwhile, the player is making rapid progress towards returning to his best shape. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Gavi also took part in a training match organized by Flick today on Wednesday.

This match was played by the members of the first team who have not been called up by their respective international sides, and some players from Barcelona Atletic.

Gavi played for 40-45 minutes in this game, and his sensations were quite positive. He was able to impress with his pace and physicality, even though the match was quite intense. He formed a midfield pair with Frenkie de Jong.

On the other hand, Wojciech Szczesny was unable to participate in this match as he is still getting back into shape after coming out of retirement. Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez, two players who are expected to return after the end of the October international break, also could not participate in this game.
