In addition to getting a replacement for Xavi Hernandez, another task very high on the priority list for FC Barcelona in the coming summer transfer window is to get a competent replacement for Sergio Busquets.

The Catalans brought in Oriol Romeu in the last summer transfer window to fill in some of the gap left by their former captain. However, after shining for a few early matches, Romeu was unable to perform up to the required standards at Barcelona, and Xavi had to try other options in the midfield.

Now, that Barcelona are looking to eliminate this notable weakness from their squad, one of the players most liked by Deco is the Girona midfielder, Aleix Garcia.

As Mundo Deportivo has noted, he will be an ideal candidate to improve the Barcelona squad, and this is also backed up by data collected and published by Sofascore.

The midfielder is already standing out with his general statistics this season, as he has made 28 appearances in top-flight football, and accumulated three goals and five assists. However, it is his statistics in the middle of the field that show how much he is standing out in La Liga for the last two years.

For instance, he is the third highest-rated player in La Liga for this period, as his average rating of 7.58 only trails that of the Real Madrid duo of Jude Bellingham (8.05) and Toni Kroos (7.68). Similarly, he stands third in the number of passes made per game, as he averages 69.8 passes in each match.

In this regard, he is below only Frenkie de Jong and the Las Palmas midfielder Kirian Rodriguez. He also stands only behind Frenkie de Jong in his passing accuracy, with him completing 92% of his passes as compared to De Jong’s 93%.

He also completes the second-highest number of long passes (6.5) in each match and trails only Toni Kroos in this regard.

Thus, his statistics and data go on to show the level at which the Girona captain has been playing lately, and Barcelona will be encouraged to make an offer for him while keeping in mind these statistics.
