FC Barcelona had a memorable night yesterday as they beat Celta de Vigo at the Montjuic after going down two goals in the 75th minute and then staging a comeback in the last ten minutes of the game.

Several Barcelona players were key in this comeback. Lewandowski started the comeback with two goals before Joao Cancelo scored the third to ensure the Catalans would not drop any points tonight.

De Jong suffers an injury

While the late goal rush would have made most Barcelona fans forget it, there was also a negative point in this match that can have significant implications for the club in the coming matches. The midfielder Frenkie de Jong left the pitch ten minutes before the end of the first half with a sprained right ankle.

An update on this injury by Mundo Deportivo claims that the midfielder’s injury is far more serious than earlier thought. While more conclusive evidence is yet to come, De Jong can possibly miss five to seven weeks of game time with this injury.

The most pessimistic forecasts of his recovery hold that he will not be able to return in time for the El Classico in October.

Twisted ankle after foul on Bamba

The injury was caused when Frenkie de Jong caused a foul on the Celta player Bamba on the 30-minute mark, and in this play, the Barcelona midfielder twisted his ankle, resulting in a sprain.

De Jong felt some pain, but after asking for a substitution earlier, asked Xavi to wait a few minutes to see if he could continue. However, he had to be replaced by Gavi in the 35th minute.

De Jong has been in great form since the start of the season, and the addition of Romeu and Gundogan has allowed his game to flourish. However, this injury can be problematic, as he can miss several weeks, during which Barcelona has to face some tough opponents.
