Barcelona are currently enjoying an amazing run of form, with an added emphasis on the fact that they have emerged victorious against arch-rivals Real Madrid in 3 consecutive clashes between the two sides. However, just as the positivity continued to grow, darker clouds emerged to dampen the sunlight at Camp Nou.

Pedri, Barcelona’s star youngster in midfield, was expected to return from injury against Real Madrid themselves in the ever-so-important second leg of the Copa Del Ray semi-final at the Spotify Camp Nou. However, as per recent revelations made by the likes of Relevo and Catalunya Radio, the young gem has suffered a relapse of sorts and will now likely be out for another 3-4 weeks.

In what is a major setback for FC Barcelona, they will now have to face Real Madrid in the Copa Del Ray without Pedri’s services, something they had been looking forward to as an additional asset to improve them the next time Los Blancos visit.

Facing the whites from Madrid two times in a row with the hopes of just about hanging on and crawling to victory so that by the time the second leg comes around, they would have their star youngster at their disposal.

Pedri has been instrumental this season and with him in the squad the Catalans look like a completely rejuvenated and improved side than they are without him within their ranks, making him an integral part of Xavi’s primary plans.

The player is now expected to be out for around a month at the very least, as FC Barcelona will try to ensure they do not risk his recovery under any circumstances and now expect his return to be around the time the Catalans welcome Atletico Madrid to the Spotify Camp Nou on the 23rd of April.
