FC Barcelona never seems to stop being a great hub of news and extreme controversies alike. The Catalan club houses one of the biggest fan bases in the world of football and is hence quite vulnerable to vicious media attacks or agendas created that are related to Barça.

This issue also seems to go deeper than just stopping at the name of the club. Many of the Barcelona players are also then involved in news that can paint them in a bad light. Recently, a report emerged claiming that Barcelona star Ilkay Gundogan is actively looking for a change in scenery in the near future.

The report in question stated that Gundogan’s desire is to play in Turkey. To be specific, Galatasaray was identified as being the club that the German midfielder so desperately wants to end his career with.

However, as highlighted by SPORT, this news does not hold any legitimacy to it. The Barcelona player’s own entourage recently were asked to comment on it. Their subsequent answer was a resounding no as they provided assurance that Gundogan is more than happy at Barcelona.

Despite Turkish sources claiming there to be unease for the former Manchester City player within Barcelona, the reality seems to vary drastically. Already well integrated within the team, Gundogan is among Xavi’s most trusted players.

As it stands, Ilkay Gundogan remains contracted to Barcelona until 2025. He also further has an option to extend even that contract. His entourage confirms his desire to first finish his Barça contract before even thinking about anything else.
