FC Barcelona are in the midst of needing to resolve their economic hurdles and overcome their deficiencies that have long since kept them restricted in terms of their transfer operations during the summer transfer window and certain measures must be taken for the betterment of the entire club itself.
Beyond simply the contract extensions that entail deferred salaries, Barcelona have to ensure certain sales are made or at the very least, some huge salaries are taken off their records as they are crucial in limiting the incorporation of new signings and existing players.
One key player in this entire situation is French central defender Clement Lenglet, who will this season have one of the highest salaries in the squad due to previous delayed payments and Barcelona will ideally look to offload him this summer to save on his salary at the very least.
While initially, Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr had reportedly proposed a €15 million transfer fee, the amount that Barcelona had placed as Lenglet’s price tag, as well as offering the 28-year-old a higher salary package than any other proposal.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona may finally be willing to agree on a loan move for their French defender to English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur, which remains Lenglet’s first choice, as the English side is willing to take over his entire salary.
Simultaneously, negotiations continue with Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus as well, however, both of the clubs are not willing to meet the demands of Barcelona in regards to his salary as they are not willing to cover the entirety of his salary.
The loan move of Clement Lenglet to Spurs if his salary is completely covered, would allow Barcelona to have the ability to register their currently unregistered players as well as potentially incorporate Joao Cancelo whenever he ends up arriving to the club.
